Hello -

I love the clothbound penguin classics series. Do you guys also collect the Puffins Clothbound Children Classics series....very very very similar to what Coralie has done.....also....Whites Fine Editions are like Coralie's versions but on steroids......sewn not glued....bigger...although there are only 8 in the series!

not as yet, I would like to finish getting this set before I look at any others.

There are also some other books disigned by pickford-smith and even though they arnt part of the penguin classics, they are peguin books, clothbound, hardbacks, and are just as beautiful. So I might put their picks up to.

Do you happen to know the measurments of the Whites fine editions of Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre? I love the covers, but i'm looking for hardbacks of both that are comfortable to hold while reading and not just for display. So would I be better off with the penguin clothbounds?

Also, I know that the penguin editions have nice size print, but from samples I've seen online it looks like the print in the White's editions may be smaller (especially in Jane Eyre).

I'd like to just buy the White's for the prettier covers, but I do want to be comfortable reading them over and over. Its so hard to decide without actually being able to hold them. Any info would be much appreciated. Thanks!

What are these titles?

Whites books are much bigger than the Penguin Classics but the type is smal;.

Thanks for the info about the small type in the Whites books! Small type gives me a headache so the Penguin editions will be better for me.

Do you happen to know if the penguin clothbounds are printed on acid-free paper? I'd hate to have them yellow in a couple of years.

I keep reading reviews about the design wearing off of the Penguin Clothbound editions with use, and also coming off with the barcode sticker on the back. Is anyone here having this problem? I want to buy the bronte and austens in this series, but i want to be able to read them (not just display them) without having to worry about the design coming off.

I recently picked the Penguin Clothbound Lady Chatterley's Lover and The Hound of the Baskervilles. Lady C survived the barcode removal intact, but alas, some of the lovely cream moths on the back of the Hound are now speckled. I'm hopeful though that they'll cope with being read.
