Maybe Infinite Jest? Cloud Atlas? I haven't read either but hear them frequently mentioned.

Infinite Jest wasn't unfortunatelly translated to my native language yet. But Cloud Atlas was and I have it on my wishlist.

Btw, Infinite Jest was already added on the list.

Oops, I see it now, #13. What is your native language, if I may ask? You seem very good with English, but you prefer not to read English novels?

I'm Czech. My English is not as good as I would wish. Especially my active knowledge is quite bad. I must construct sentences very carefully and that takes time. I'm able to read in English (I'm reading short stories by William Trevor now) but Infinite Jest is such a tome that I'm quite aware of it. Well, one day, maybe... ;-)
