I think she's pretty much sold on the whole experience. It was, of course, pretty neat for me, too - brought back a lot of fond memories of my mom and dad taking me comics shopping when I was little. :)

I've been promising my nearly-seven year old her first comic shop visit for a while. Thanks for the reminder! (The shop is out of the way, and I usually get my fix via the library's graphic novels section nowadays.)

My pleasure. It hadn't even occured to me that she would be interested in it for a while. I was reminded of it myself when I took she showed me an ad from a Pokémon TPB she had checked out from our local library and said, "Look, Dad, it says you can buy these at a comics store!" (she is a fairly advanced reader for her age) I promised her I would take her to the local comics shop the next time I had her (which was today), and so off we went. :)

I have two daugters, 2 and 4 years old. They are spitfire-like and I think that I couldn't control them in a comics shop.
I buy them My Little Pony and other stuff at the Newstand.
Maybe I'll take them next year :)

Yeah, I held off with mine for the same reason, & because I think she would have been very overstimulated in there when she was 4 or 5. :)

I've been taking mine to comic shops since she was about 4 (Xanadu Comics in Seattle!), and she's a confirmed comic geek. It's great to see.

Getting mere infants hooked, will you? Shame on you all ;-)

> 8: At that age I went for Donald Duck. Mostly stuff by Carl Barks, but I wasn't even aware of that fact then. It all said: "by Walt Disney".
But then, that was simply what happened to be available for me at the time - who knows what I might have chosen otherwise.

Take them early! I was nearly 30 before my husband took me on my first trip to comic book store! Don't let them get old before they go! ~ L
