30 days/30 stories (and optionally 30 authors).

No reason really - just an idea. Will be interesting to see what people choose to read :)

Any takers?

I know that I wouldn't be able to fulfill it! Sorry.

Good Idea. I think I can read at least 10 by 10 different authors, and maybe 30 if I get ambitious. Will we just list them all at the end of the month?

If you prefer so. Or you can keep a running list here and/or post after every few stories or... up to you :)

The idea is to talk about stories and maybe to read some of these books that sit on the shelves.

I actually would like to give this a shot. I'm taking a big test on Friday and Saturday so have been stuck reading study material for months. This might be a good way to dive back into reading things I actually want to read.

Well I'm in then. I've got a few candidates in my stack.

I'll join as I just bought a SF short short collection I just learned about. It has 18 stories by 16 authors. And if get through that early I have over a dozen other ss collections to read.

I love short stories and have tons of them at my fingertips. At this moment I am almost finished with Angela Carter's collected stories Burning Your Boats. This sounds like fun, especially since we can choose our own reading material and it will be fun to compare notes with everyone.

Great idea, Annie!

BTW, are rereads permitted?

I'm a big fan of short stories, so this sounds exciting. Can't promise 30 authors, but I'm sure I can do the minimum 10.

OK - started a thread for the challenge: http://www.librarything.com/topic/135063 -- so I can get lists of what everyone is reading at the top (yeah... lists... I like lists :) )

It is good to see that there are people in this group...:)
