I have just discovered "Emily the Strange". Seems this offbeat teen series began as a picture book and grew into a series of graphic novels. It is weird, black and sure to offend people. I find it most amusing. E.g. One of Emily's 13 favourite ways to die is to be the ugly half of conjoined twins being separated, when the mother says "Save the pretty one". See what I mean. There is loads of Emily merchandise for sale on the net, so it must be huge elsewhere.
