Ur, thanks for posting this link, both here and in the History group. (It's about a visit to the U.S. by James Amaya, the UN "special rapporteur on the rights of indigenous peoples.") The Guardian omits any mention of the 2007 UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, a milestone in international law.

The History thread runs mostly along the lines of "nothing is going to change." Maybe we can explore some other aspects of the topic.
