Heads up, according to SpaceWeather.com which says that Earth has a 70% chance of an M class solar flare and a 10% chance of X class solar flare in the next 24 hours:

New theories may be required for an improved understanding of Sol, the sun for Earth's solar system:

The existing "thermonuclear" model for Sol may not capture Sol's behavior in the 21st century.
