My daughter sucked me in. She always had wonderful pictures to share every time I visited, and she finally set an account up for me. Whew!!
There's not much in the way of conversation, but the visual arts are thriving. Here's my virtual library there:

I do. I have a board for bookshelf ideas. http://pinterest.com/rosielulu/home-book-shelves/
And another with readers in art. http://pinterest.com/rosielulu/art-the-art-of-reading/ I love paintings showing people reading, and had hundreds bookmarked on my computer which I adored looking at now and again. The last time my computer was 'fixed', they deleted all my bookmarks. Thirteen years of of bookmarks, painstakingly maintained, beautifully organized, and used all the time - gone. At the time, I didn't even know there was a way to back-up my bookmarks, so I had nothing to fall back on.

That's what I'm talkin' about!!!
I know what you mean about losing all your cherished bookmarks. I've had the same thing happen. Once I got very short notice I was going to have my work computer traded out. I ran to the dollar store and bought a thumb drive and dumped all my personal stuff onto it, a few documents, lots of pictures, bookmarks, etc.

2wonderY, I enjoyed looking through all your boards. How do you feel about repinning? I must have dozens of your pins open that I'd like to repin, and you may find that already done before you even see this message!

Oh, of course!!
I thought that was the whole idea.
I've taken images indiscriminately. My goal is to create boards that speak about me and my aspirations.
Spending time on LT, I've found kindred spirits with complimentary libraries, and that will reflect on Pinterest as well.
My daughter and I pin back and forth all the time.

My favorite painting of a reader is "The Bookworm" by Carl Spitzweg. I'd love to get the print. Talk about a picture being worth a thousand words!

I'm on Pinterest, and thanks to 2wonderY, now a member of this group. :)
Also, here is a lovely image of a female reader...so vibrant: http://pinterest.com/pin/129760032984344952/

I've never used Pinterest (too much temptation, not enough time) but a couple of my facebook friends do and they share when they have pinned something new. There really are some beautiful images out there.

>11 Collectorator:
DANG! about that watermelon.
Pinterest is a great place for catagorizing images, and Collectorator has a marvelous virtual collection of woodland childrens books from the 40s 50s 60s. Though I think she's using LT scans from her own collection here.

I use it all the time. I find it really useful for both creating virtual collections of images and as a memory aid.

Waves hand wildly !! Yes, I love combining Pinterest and book love (and Pinterest and other loves too). Here are my book-themed boards:
I recently made a board as I read through The Children's Book: http://www.pinterest.com/nickelini/the-childrens-book-as-byatt/
Last year I started thinking about an art project connected with Wuthering Heights. It's sort of morphed into something you might not understand, but for what it's worth: http://www.pinterest.com/nickelini/wuthering-heights/
I have boards for each of Virginia Woolf's novels, along with a general Bloomsbury board, here: http://www.pinterest.com/nickelini/bloomsbury/
My favourite book covers: http://www.pinterest.com/nickelini/fabulous-book-covers/
My favourite books: http://www.pinterest.com/nickelini/five-star-reads-my-favourite-books/
Libraries and reading: http://www.pinterest.com/nickelini/libraries/
Little Red Riding Hood: http://www.pinterest.com/nickelini/red-riding-hood/
Fairy Tales: http://www.pinterest.com/nickelini/once-upon-a-time/
I also have a board on hats that I've dedicated to Lily Bart, the protagonist of The House of Mirth: http://www.pinterest.com/nickelini/lily-bart-chapelier/
I think those are my main bookish boards.
I'm excited to go look at every one's pins!
