Not a ghost story, but speficially for Halloween I am reading Agatha Christie's Hallowe'en Party. Unfortunately I'm not finding it as entertaining as I remember her books being. Perhaps this just isn't one of her stronger ones.

P.S. I'm thinking maybe I'll read The Best Halloween Ever sometime this month too.

I just read Norman Partridge's DARK HARVEST, which I liked a lot even though it's not really my kind of thing at first glance. Over the top wild action on Halloween, as the young men of the town try to stop the annual incursion by the October Boy, a Halloween monster if there ever was one. Very well written and works on multiple levels, with themes of small town insularity and hopelessness and the power of stories to overcome anything.
In the stack to read are
Paul Melniczek's WHEN THE LEAVES FALL
Carl Jacobi's REVELATIONS IN BLACK
Al Sarrantonio's OCTOBER
Black Static #30
Paula Guran's anthology HALLOWEEN

I did read The Best Halloween Ever which was cute and quick, and today I finished Dark Currents by Jacqueline Carey. I wasn't thinking of it in relation to Halloween, but the main character is a half-demon Hellspawn, so....
