I noticed there's no thread for Sept./Oct. yet (jseger, are you out there?) so I thought I'd get it started. I'm looking forward to this one, although it'll be a bit til I get there.

I think King should write a full-scale autobiography someday, his personal anecdotes were fascinating, funny and weird. I admit to being a little bored by the sections on grammar, but the overall book (especially the parts on his childhood and the van accident) was excellent.

The problem with a full scale auto-biography at this point is that anyone who would be intersted, namely us, already knows his story. I can't think of another writer who has been more forthcoming with their life story, motivation, inspiration and random details of his life than SK. Don't get me wrong. I am not saying this in any derogatory manner. I used to love reading his postscripts and forwards (almost) as much as the stories themselves. His rags to riches story has been so well documented by himself and others. His poor childhood and close relationship with his brother. It is a great story, but he (and others) has already told it.

Or an autobiography from his son, who is also a writer? What was it like growing up in the King household?

I loved reading about his life and how he came to be an author! Particularly the anecdote of pinning his rejection letters to the wall.
