The Odyssey has been combined with part I of Don Quixote.

Looks like it's being busily sorted. However I'venever seen such a range of disparate titles suggested as work combinations..

See http://www.librarything.com/work-info/1526
Not good as it encourages incorrect combinations.

I wonder if someone entered a batch of classics and used the same ISBN each time?

That was me, sorting.

I believe I read somewhere that there are editions of classics with the same ISBN for each book.
Well, maybe someday someone will combine them all.

Aerie Books, which has historically sold cheap books to Wal-Mart, sold all their classics under the same ISBN, and sold a bunch of Oz books all under the same ISBN.

You'll see this crazy list of combine suggestions whenever the work is part of the "Great Books" series and, perhaps, the "Harvard Classics". I think some uniform editions of the Great Books of the Western World appear with each volume/work having the same ISBN. So, the Great Books The Odyssey will have the same ISBN as the Great Books Dante's Inferno. This really screws up the suggestions list, and puts these works in great danger - most likely from hurried combining, clicking on the wrong line from the list.

Os.

Yeesh, and there was I being frustrated that LT didn't automatically combine based on ISBN when I'd entered a book with the title phrased slightly differently... I had no idea you could have different books with the same ISBN...
