If I'm adding a local event that's a lecture about a deceased author, is it appropriate to touchstone the author? I'm of two minds, because on the one hand, anyone who is interested in the author would probably be interested in the lecture, but on the other hand, that could get very messy very quickly for very famous authors like Shakespeare. (For what it's worth, this particular lecture series is about some more obscure authors, so the event overload issue wouldn't apply.)

I've wondered the same in the past, and have always gone ahead and added the touchstone -- for the same reason you've mentioned above: anyone who is interested in the author would probably be interested in the lecture.
