Used Book Sale - Fresno, CA (countywide)

Friends of the Fresno County Public Library does a major book donation drive and used book sale in August. The net proceeds benefit the 34 branches of the library throughout the county. Local CBS station is the major partner and promoter which results in some 1/4 million volumes being donated each August. The sale raised over $50,000 last year.

The donation drive is being held on Wednesday, Aug 14 from 7 am to 7 pm at CBS47 headquarters. The sale will start on Aug 22 and run through Aug 25 at the Sierra Vista Mall.

Would be a great event to have a meet-up for those in central Califonia. The Mall also has lots of restaurants close by.

Ooh, it's tempting, but I think probably unlikely that I'll be able to make the trip from Berkeley.
