I don't seem able to find a group that reads poetry. Is there one? I would like some advice on what to read. I'll put this in the LT thread too.

Hi Mike, I did find poetry fool but haven't written anything recently - too busy plotting my next novel!

Iʻm interested, mike. Letʻs see what you have. Or give a description of what you write about in poetry. But Iʻd rather have the poems themselves if thereʻs little space or time.

I wish I had a better ear for poetry. I've read/heard - and believe - the best authors can work in prose and poetry interchangeably. I will not be one of the best authors.

>7 carusmm:, whew! I won't tell you you're wrong, that's your opinion, but then I suppose by your lights there's little difference to tell between the lyrical prose of the classics and kids' lit?

ah, I'll tell you you are wrong; read better prose!

Cecrow, If you read poetry everyday, or at least every week, for years... then you'll have an ear. I recommend Langston Hughes daily.

And you never know, you may become the best of your generation. Don't worry about that. Just keep reading and writing. Daily.
