It looks like quite a few of his books are owned by Harvard and cataloged in HOLLIS as such. I can get it started if I can take my time working on it.

Also his house library belongs to the National Park Service: http://www.nps.gov/long/historyculture/historic-library.htm
I worked there in the late '90s, I might be able to chat up someone there about it.

Yeah, I interned at Longfellow House as well - there are tons of books there, but they're cataloged in a super-annoying NPS database system, unfortunately. The archivist when I was there has retired now, and I don't know the new person, but perhaps there's some way they can get us something. It's a BIG library, though, so be warned :-)

I contacted the archivist at the Longfellow House a couple of weeks ago. She said that a large part has not been cataloged and she is waiting for some grants so that they can get them cataloged. She also told me that the system jbd1 talks about wouldn't really help us. She did say that it has ~10,000 books.

Yes, but they're not all Longfellow's. Jeremy, that's not Anita, is it?
And having spent three years cataloging in that NPS system, trust me, I know how annoying it is.
