Memorial Hospital after Hurricane Katrina

Sheri Fink, an award winning reporter and former disaster relief worker, has a new book out. Five Days at Memorial tells the story of the flooded Memorial Hospital after Hurricane Katrina. A number of patients died, and several caregivers later faced criminal allegations for euthanasia. I have just bought the book, and it looks like a compelling read.

I got one of the copies from the LT Early reviewer program. They actually sent what appears to be an actual first edition -- hard cover, complete with diagram, index, notes, etc. I'm still pondering the specifics of what to say in my review, but I can tell you that I was very, very impressed.
