One I gathered yesterday, goes something like this:

"So, you get paid to read for a living. Isn't that like getting paid to breathe?"*

- from About Time, a movie I highly recommend. This is not the only quote about books in the movie nor is it the only mention of the importance of reading. It is not the main theme of the movie, but books and reading definitely have their place in it.

* The "Isn't that like getting paid to breathe?" is exact, I lost track of the exact words of the lead up to it.

From Beauty and the Beast:

"Gaston: It's not right for a woman to read. Soon she starts getting *ideas*, and *thinking*... "

"Gaston: How can you read this? There's no pictures!

Belle: Well, some people use their imagination."

From the Neverending Story:

"Mr. Koreander: The video arcade is down the street. Here we just sell small rectangular objects. They're called books. They require a little effort on your part, and make no bee-bee-bee-bee-beeps. On your way please. "
