11/22/63: a novel

#1: Just finished this fantastic novel today. not the usual horror but I loved the story. I've ordered doctor sleep from Amazon to get back in the King swing.

#2: A brutal snow storm hitting Michigan tonight allowing me to finish, takedown twenty by janet evanovich on audio book.

#3: also just finished Charles dickens oliver twist, a classic but the middle of the story seriously bogged down the story, I would have quit altogether had I not been listening to the audiobook version, I imagine he was paid by the word, good story but a lot of filler to wade through.

#4: finished ocean at the end of the lane by neil gaiman this afternoon on audiobook. I enjoyed the story but wished the magical and supernatural elements were, expounded upon, why are they there, what are they doing and where did they come from??

#5: finished a few more...this house is haunted by john boyne, it was okay, the ending was a bit of a let down.
#6: ender's game by orson scott card,
#7: bury your dead by louise penny just loved it,
#8: a rule against murder another by louise penny and again loved it- Three Pines is just fabulous.
#9: miss peregrine's home for peculiar children by ransom riggs didn't live up to the hype, the ending a bit abrupt.
#10: a Connecticut yankee in king Arthur's court a classic by mark twain

#11: Just finished a nostalgic re-read of Carolyn keene's Nancy Drew page turner, the secret of red gate farm.

#12: read another Nancy Drew, Nancy's mysterious letter by Carolyn keene.
#13: Listened to an Elizabeth peters audiobook the mummy case I love the narrator of the series, Barbara Rosenblatt, it's actually hard to read the books as I prefer to listen to them.
#14: Three Pines phenom, trick of the light by louise penny I hope this series goes on and on and on...

#17: seven dials mystery by Agatha Christie,
#18: the tower treasure by franklin Dixon the first Hardy Boys mystery, I'll stick with Nancy Drew...
#19: the winter queen by boris akunin very dramatic, dark and a bit disappointing
#20: and finally ethan frome by edith Wharton also a bit depressing and disappointing.

I'm in the middle of the dead in their vaulted arches by alan Bradley and just love it!!!

#21: the dead in their vaulted arches by alan Bradley a wonderful book, harriet comes home and answers to pieces of the past come together, my favorite of the series.

#23 Agatha Christie's they came to baghdad a bit different from her usual murder in a small English village, spies in the middle east, I liked it a lot

#26: twilight zone radio dramas vol #1 by rod serling. I loved this volume. several of my favorite TV episodes were re-enacted here, "A stop at Willoughby", "Of Late I Think of Cliffordville", "The Lonely" and "The After Hours". I will be requesting additional volumes from my library.

#27: the birds by daphne du maurier short story that I would have liked to played out a bit more, very abrupt ending, but very creepy.

#28: in listening to danse macabre I picked up invasion of the body snatchers by jack finney, I saw the Donald Sutherland version which I liked but the book FAR exceeds. I have it as an audio book rental and it is read by the original director's son who does an incredible job. I lived this novel so much I purchased a paperback version and have also ordered time and again also recommended in danse macabre.

#33: just finished listening to the incredible shrinking man by Richard Matheson good story, disappointed by the ending

#34: whiskey river by loren d. estleman, enjoying his series about the early, wild days of Detroit
#35: the swiss family robinson by johann david wyss, boring!
#36: the mist by Stephen king listened to the fully dramatized version, loved it

#37: loren estleman gas city. I didn't like as much as the Detroit series I'm moving on to Motown.
#38: just finished listening to mary poppins by P. L. Travers
#39: Stephen king riding the bullet loved the narrator on this and enjoyed the story, not as creepy as his other works

#42: listened to loren estleman's Motown, a let down after the first in the series. not much action, covered the period just up to the race riot which would have been so much better.

#43: listened to the hunting wind by steve Hamilton I liked that this was set in Michigan but the story never really picked up and the ending fell flat.

#46: read the sundial by Shirley Jackson a bit tough to follow, although she was portraying madness somehow they felt mildly harmless near the end

#47: just finished listening to the ghost ship by clive cussler, first time I read one of his books, so-so. I did like the storyline of the female villian

#48 blackout by connie willis loved it! thought the name bennie chose for herself was just perfect. have requested the follow-up novel all clear from the library already.

#49: listened to the audiobook, the martian by andy weir. absolutely fabulous, loved the story, loved the narrator

#50: the flood in Detroit slowed me down a bit, had 1 foot of water in the basement but I managed to finish listening to All Clear by Connie Willis I have very mixed feelings, the plot was quite convoluted and in the end not sure it really made sense but I loved the characters, especially Bennie and Alf and I'm glad for how things wrapped up.

#51: just listened to the deep by peter Benchley not as compelling as Jaws but entertaining-disappointed in the abruptness of the ending.

#53: disappointed by Agatha Christie's Parker pyne investigates, very quick unrealistic solutions to a various assortment of mysteries. I love Agatha Christie but will still to her novels.
