Nice! Closest yet! (Well... only response yet)... but I'm still excited. I feel like no one in Miami reads! Are you from Florida originally? What are your literary interests?

Six months later and I remember this Group.
Born in Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Since posting, life has taken strong turn. Now find myself residing Atlanta environs while bulk of my library remains in Miami.
Mostly read literary fiction. Enjoy many international writers (as long as I can read them in English), particularly Chinese and Indo-Asian. Seek prize winning literature, Nobel, Booker, Orange, Pulitzer, etc. Fond of strong historical fiction by likes of Dunnett, Mantel, Catton. In non-fiction, I enjoy bios about writers, musicians, and artists. But my secret vice is reading modern physics, especially when Randall, Greene, or Guth is writing on the subjects of cosmology, quantum dynamics, Superstring Theory, or multiverses.
Are you a native-born Floridian? Used to go to Miami Book Fair every year, even was a volunteer worker in its earliest years. Missed last year. Do you go? Great event for book lovers! Fear not -- I wasn't the only one who took my e-reader to the Marlins games. Perhaps you were the other? What kinds of books do you enjoy reading at the ball park, or anywhere else?

Hello! I'm in Miami. Just joined the site recently. I've fallen in love with MDPLS, Kendall is my home branch. In the process of organizing my home collection of books. I'm originally from NY, moved here after high school. Graduate of FIU and UM for grad school.

This group doesn't seem to be active.
I'm new to LibraryThing and live in the Redland area of Miam-Dade County. As a new me LibraryThing member, I've busied myself with adding all the books that I can remember reading to my book collection.
Most of my reading over the last 25 years has been audio books. I used them to help me cope with my 1 hour 15 minute commute. That's 2 and a half hours of reading per day during the business week. Since retireing almost three years ago, all my reading has been done using ebook readers. I have both an Amazon Kindle Paperwhite and a Barnes & Noble HD Nook; I use them alternately.

Hello again Miami readers! ronploude I haven't splurged yet on a kindle, I use the free apps on my laptop and smart phone. I often buy fiction as e-books, but I also enjoy going to MDPLS and getting real books now and then for the nostalgia.
