Jacob Have I Loved, Katherine Paterson

I read this book all the way through, but I didn't really experience it. I hardly remember it, except for a few things about the hurricane or the war or catching crabs. The characters don't really stick in my mind, except the main one who is a little bit fussy for my taste. I felt as if she started out being strong, adventurous and defiant, but just went blah until the end, when she was an adult and had gotten to where she was because other people helped her get there.
