Why not just take them to the local charity shop?

1. You can take them to your local library -- usually they will then try to sell them in the "Friends of the Library" book sale to raise money for the library.

2. Take them to Goodwill or the Salvation Army or any other thrift/charity store.

3. Call up a local retirement home and ask if they can use books.

4. Find a prison to ship them too (usually they can only take paperbacks; more information here: http://www.prisonbookprogram.org/donatesection/donate-books/)

Some hospitals may have a patient library - try calling their volunteer department.

If you live in an urban area, there might be shelters/hostels that might appreciate book donations.

I've gotten rid of all kinds of things.
