Wow! I just read this piece in the NYTimes online today about the book All God's Dangers, an oral history of an Alabama sharecropper that won the National Book Award for non-fiction in 1974 and has been largely forgotten today. I have to read this sometime soon.

I highly recommend it. I read it years ago and was riveted. I am sorry that it is largely forgotten.
