Please don't say Twilight. We've tried Vampire Academy as well as the spin-off series, Bloodlines, & so far tend to like Bloodlines a bit better. But we're hoping to find some new-to-us authors. Suggestions?

In this case, vampires aren't the main focus, but Gail Carriger's new-ish young adult "Finishing School" series, starting with Etiquette & Espionage, is in the same universe as her adult "Parasol Protectorate" series. This steampunk universe has sympathetic vampires and werewolves. And these books are funny! Really something a little different than your average vampire setting.

Thanks! That's definitely on our TBR list, as we've read the first in the Parasol Protectorate series & really enjoyed it. Any other thoughts?
