I just picked up a reduced-price copy of Steve Howell's Molt in North American Birds, a book I have been wanting to get my hands on for a while. Like all Steve's publications, it is a mine of information and considered analysis. A superb reference work, but also a wonderful book for dipping into. I have been using it for both over the past few days and am amazed how much new information the book contains. Well worth the original asking price and now available (in the US at least) very much cheaper. It would be good to have something similar for the UK.

Interesting. I have lots of juvenile songbirds that follow their parents to my feeders, and would probably enjoy looking through that book.
