One of my smaller new year's resolutions is being better at keeping my reading thread

I'm glad you're still keeping a thread. You read lots of books that I find interesting, even though I'll probably never see them in English. At least that way I can't add them to my TBR pile.

In 2014 I became part of a project about a Nordic blog for Nordic youth literature. I am responsible for Greenlandic youth literature. We only started a few months ago, but I am learning alot about youth literature from the other Nordic countries. So I read alot of books originally in Nordic languages, because the Work with the blog gave me an interest in reading more Nordic literature.

First in the new year I read:

Seje kvinder. A Danish book about the life of seven Greenlandic women. It is honest and sometimes hard stories, but they are all abouth strong women, who are fighters

Jette Bang. A book about a Danish female photographer who travelled to Greenland in the 1930s. The book is filled with her Photos of which alot shows a way of life that would be gone a few years after. Very beautiful Photos. It is in Greenland/Danish/English

Fjernsyn for børn. A Danish book about the history of Danish television for kids. Very interesting

En mand der hedder Ove which I absolutely loved. I loved getting to know Ove so much that I had to read it in one setting. Funny and moving. It is originally Swedish and have been translated into English

Finished Popular about a young girl following the advice from a 1950s book about how to be popular. I really liked it. Fun to see how alot of the advices still apply.

Yesterday I finished Som en tikken under huden by Camilla Wandahl. A Danish young adult book about a very complicated relationship between two sisters. Very well written. I just wished for at longer book. It was only 150 pages long. I would have like some more pages to hear more about their story

I have read The thing I didn't know I didn't know. A new series about Russel Middlebrook. I liked this older Russel

I have been negleting my reading thread, but since January 15 I have read the following books:

the three Fifty Shades books. A bit entertaining, but not well written.

Delikatesse by David Foenkinos

Hul i hovedet by Nicole Boyle Rødtnes A Danish Young adult book about a young girl WHO gets afasia after an accident. Very good

Hej søde by Ida Holst. A Danish book about a relationship show through text messages. It was ok, but not more than that. Both main charactors were very annoying and unlikable

The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving

Britt-Marie var her by Fredrik Backman Very good and very funny.

The Rosie Project by Graeme Simsion Very funny and entertaining

Let it snow A good young adult book with three connected stories each written by a different author

Will Grayson, Will Grayson. It was well written, but for some reason I couldn't really feel for the characters.

I just finished The Rosie Project too. It was a lot of fun!

I liked the first two stories in Let It Snow, but couldn't get into the third one.

I agree. The last story wasn't as good as the two first. For me it had something to do with the fact that I really didn't like the main character. She actually reminded me a bit of the female main character in Hej Søde. Very selfish and dramatic
