For your January, 2015, TIOLI challenge, I hereby challenge you to:
***********************************************
Read a book that has the word "psychological" followed by a noun somewhere in or on the book.
***********************************************
Rules
1. The word must exactly say "pyschological", not "pyscho" or "psychologically".
2. The word “psychological” may be capitalized.
3. The word "psychological" must be immediately followed by a noun.
4. In your listing, state the two-word combination and where it was found.
5. Matching books are allowed even if your copy does not meet the parameter.
6. The above rules can apply to any language (e.g. "psychologisches Werk" in German).
Here are some ideas...
In the Woods (psychological thriller/back cover) – Tana French
Killing Me Softly (psychological suspense/front cover) – Nicci French
Man’s Search For Meaning (psychological thought/front cover) – Viktor E. Frankl
The Soul Thief (psychological gem/page of blurbs) - Charles Baxter
That Night (psychological thriller/back cover) – Chevy Stevens
The Uninvited (psychological thriller/front cover foldover blurb) – Liz Jensen
We Need to Talk About Kevin (psychological investigation/back cover) – Lionel Shriver
Now it's your turn to use an above-suggested book or find one of your own.
Enjoy...and have a fun-filled 2015!
-----------------------------------
Other Fun Stuff (not part of the TIOLI challenge):
1. The January 2015 TIOLI Meter - Optional page on which you may track your TIOLI reading. FYI: This is not meant to be competitive - only fun!
2. Morphidae's List of Previous TIOLI Challenges - You may use this reference (Do a control-F scan) to avoid repeating a previous challenge. If your idea is similar to a previous challenge, just make it unique by adding a new "twist" to it. (Updated 09/23/14)

This shows how long it took me to write my post. I wrote and posted it at the end of the other thread. Then noticed this thread popped up something like 20 minutes after I had started writing my post.
4LoisB
I'm posting primarily so this thread shows up on my post list. I haven't been chatting much this month, but I have completed 9 challenges.

Well, Lexxi, you did have a lot to say in your previous post. LOL!

That's excellent since we're only three weeks into the month.

A personal award and an award to someone out of my challenge!? SCORE!! :D
Thank you, Madeline!
Thank you, Madeline!

My pleasure!

I finished the sweet, coming of age and coming out romance Annie On My Mind for challenge #6, author who died last year. It included an interview with the author, Nancy Garden, now I think I need to read some of her other works.
11Crazymamie
I just entered First Frost, Sarah Addison Allen's new book that just came out under Challenge #14 if anyone else is reading that one this month. Any ideas about where I could put Fables: Legends in Exile? It's a GN - I am wondering if it was originally published in multiple volumes. Anyone know?
12Lexxi
Yes, Fables: Legends in Exile was originally published in individual issues.
Eta: It was released as Fables 1 - 5. As in, Issue 1, 2, 3, etc.

13Crazymamie
Oh, good! Thanks for that, Lexxi!
14rosalita
I've added a couple of books to the challenges that I didn't plan to read originally. I put Bones to Ashes in Challenge 14 (author's name with 6 or more letters) and The Mirror Crack'd From Side to Side in Challenge 15 (books acquired in 2014).
It's looking unlikely that I will get to The Narrow Road to the Deep North in time to complete the challenge, as I am still number thirtysomething on the library holds list. I gather the idea is to go into the wiki on the last day of the month and remove any books I had previously listed as planned reads that don't actually get done?

>15 SqueakyChu: Thanks, Madeline! I'm leaving it there for now, in hopes that it will somehow magically nudge me closer to the top of the holds list. :-)
17Citizenjoyce
>16 rosalita: I'm doing the same, though I'm closer than you #3 on 2 copies of e-books. We'll see.
18rosalita
>17 Citizenjoyce: Number 3 on 2 copies is promising! I'm sending good library vibes your way.
19Citizenjoyce
Thanks, with all that air vibrating between us something good may happen yet.

Just a reminder that unless a challenge is a rolling one or has other special instructions, they are usually listed on the wiki in alphabetical order, ignoring "The" and "A" as first words. This makes it easier for people to find their books to change their status.
21countrylife
>20 katiekrug:: Except for shared reads. Though the original listing follows the rules in post 20, then each subsequent reader of a shared read places themselves below the previous reader's listing, not listing the member names alphabetically, but rather in order of occurrence. That one threw me for awhile.

Thanks for the award, re: "frozen" being a color. I guess I can thank Detroit or the auto designer who designated a white car with that description. :)
I am loving The Right Stuff, and am almost done. It's going to be a highly recommended read.
Addendum: I despised The Bonfire of the Vanities, but I am glad I tried another book by Tom Wolfe, The Right Stuff: this one DID have "the Right Stuff", and is highly recommended.

>14 rosalita: good news, it looks like I won't be getting The Narrow Road to the Deep North in time for this month, but it will fit in a challenge next month.
24Helenoel
Managed to fit all of my 7 books so far this month into categories. Did have to put two into the same category - but two song titles seemed less of a cop-out that two long author names....
25Dejah_Thoris
I'm cutting it a bit close but by finishing Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard by Kiran Desai for TIOLI #5, I've completed sweep for January! I was beginning to think that Hullabaloo in the Guava Orchard was never going to arrive at my library branch, but it finally did on Wednesday.
I'll finish one more book for certain - Serenity: Leaves on the Wind which will be a shared read with Lexxi for TIOLI #2. There are one or two others I might finish in time...we'll see.
I hope everyone has had a fabulous January of reading!

Thank you for all the sweep congratulations, Carrie, Lexxi, Mamie, Madeline, Joyce and Linda! It was a big reading month for me.
Of course, now I'm excited that it's February!

I can have a couple more hours, right?
The deadline for each month's challenge's is 12 midnight in the time zone in which you live.
That's it! Finito!
All books finished after the deadline need to be moved into the following month's challenge if the parameters are met.

I had to take out two planned reads that I didn't get to, but I was able to add two others that I hadn't planned to read at the beginning of the month so overall I still ended up with 10 reads.

You've found them now, but an FYI for the future:
I always try to sneak them onto the boards when no one is paying attention...so it will take an extra effort to look for them. Near the end of each month start looking for the new one for the upcoming month!
