I'm at the age where I'm thinking about retirement jobs.

One that appeals to me is running knitting get-aways, day-long and weekends.

(My husband is designing a studio for the day-long ones, but I might like it so much I might just move in with my yarn and he can visit me.)

Anybody been on any knitaways with anecdotes to share about what works well. And what doesn't?

There is one near me in Pennsylvania that a few members of my group rave about...will try to find out more for you!

I'm in North Carolina and would LOVE to attend such an event. The only ones I've ever seen were extremely expensive ($700-$1000 for a weekend), which leaves me out. I wish there were more options available in my area. :(

My local yarn shop held a 4-day retreat and although I didn't go, I heard wonderful things about it. The shop's webpage is here: http://www.craftsmanhill.com/ and there's still info up about the retreat if you're interested in the schedule and such - the woman who runs the shop is incredibly nice and helpful, and I'm sure if you emailed her, she would be happy to offer suggestions from her experience of running this (her first, I think) retreat.

I was searching form something else and found this

I don't know how far away you want your knit away to be but since you had expressed an interest in Welsh knitting I thought I'd pass it on.

that should do it. You need a blank space both before and after the link and voila!
