A small thing, but it completes the feature, I think.

Development work mostly by @ccatalfo.

I like that I can search on title or author separately without having to remember the syntax.

Finally, I can search for Title OR Author without having struggling to separate the results. I still think it's kind of odd to bundle them as a pair, but at least now I can have it my way without straining to remember something I use too little to develop expertise).

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I'd still like a pony, or at least a few chickens.

I'm confused. What's new here? Just an added UI to the existing functionality, right?

Nice, but the Search button is broken in localised versions: https://www.librarything.com/pic/4839523

Cool!

Is there a way for me to add the advanced search box to my Home Page?

Also, can it be customized so that I can 'fix' the Any Fields if I want? I would find this much easier to use if, say, the first of the four boxes were fixed at Title, and the second at Author, with the third and fourth left free to key or choose..

That's right. No new functionality, but it's an alternative to learning the grammar.

OK, when I try using this advanced search on our public catalogue (i.e. not logged in), it gives me search results in Tim Spalding's books and not from our books!

As we are an institution most of the searching is done through the public catalogue so this is a problem.

Nice to see what books you have though Tim!

Confirmed.

And signed in, trying to use this in someone else's catalogue gives me my own catalogue, and the collection I was last using rather than the 'any' I left in the form.

Assigned to @ccatalfo.

i want to make a list of books entered by date in tags. this would be a 6 month list. I was trying to use Advanced search for 3 month to test. Used 0123, 0223 and 0323. Tags was used as Field. Tags, Date, and Tags, Date and Tags, Date, but got nothing. What am I doing wrong?

If I search your library by tags on 0123, I get 19 results. 0223 gives 31 results. 0323 25 results.
