Is anyone up for a readathon this weekend?

The weather over here is supposed to be abysmal throughout the weekend (as if it hasn't been crap for weeks) so I thought I'd make the most out of the situation and read as much as possible.

Anyone want to join?

I checked out some older readathon thread to get some inspiration. Here is a template to use for those interested.

I've been reading:
Books finished:
Pages read:
Reading time:

Total books read:
Total books read from:
Total pages read:
Total time read:

And please make a post and let me know if you're interested in joining. I'll make a list of participants.

Come on! As it's Friday morning over here now, I'm starting as soon as I finish eating breakfast and showering.

I've been reading a lot of crap books lately so I needed a break and started on Agatha Christie's At Bertram's Hotel even though I have tons of other books started. Christie's always a good, even when she'd bad she's better than a lot of others so it's nice to know I'll at least enjoy my book this time.

My goal for the weekend is to read at least 200 pages per day so 600 pages or more for the whole weekend. Don't want to set too high a goal as I do have other things to do as well.
I want to finish the Christie and make some headway in A Clash of Kings, because it's about time I finish that one. Anything more than that will be a bonus.

Hope you want to join me!

Don't forget that you can join anytime and you don't have to take part the whole weekend. If you can only read for an hour on Sunday afternoon, that's fine too!

Count me in! We finally have rain - so happy about that! - so I am looking forward to settling in a good chair and making progress with my current reads. I tend to be terrible about reporting in as I am reading but I will try to remember. ;-)

Welcome! We'll both be terrible at reading and reporting then!

I just woke up and to my great surprise the weather is lovely (the weather reports this summer have been some of the worst I've experienced, very little accuracy) but I don't care - I'm reading anyway!

Glad to see you also woke to sunshine this morning! I will probably flip between reading The Lantern and continuing with my audiobook read Main Street while I run errands and putter around the house.

Finally, the whole mystery part of the story is now happening. Still 100 pages to go. After all the slow build of the story I hope it doesn't fizzle out and flop in the ending.

I love audiobooks and how I can read and get things done at the same time.

Good job on competing two books!

Yeah, it's great! I'd be bored out of my mind when cleaning the house or ironing if I couldn't listen to podcasts or audiobooks.

I*m really please. One's a GN so didn't take very long to read, but it's one of those books I should have read ages ago so I'm glad I did it. I'm hoping to finish Fables vol 3 and possibly one more books (I have started a ton of books but not finished them) but we'll see. A friend of mine is coming over for a movie night later so will have less time to read.

You ladies are doing great, I'm sorry this wasn't a good weekend for me to join in on the Readathon. But I am home now and I am planning on picking up a book and reading the next few hours away!

And I'm out! It's late, late, late here now and I really need to get ready for bed - lots to do tomorrow. I didn't get as much reading done as I'd hoped but more than I would have if it hadn't been for the readathon so I'm pleased. I hope I can keep reading at this pace - I'm getting a lot of books done!

Thank you lkernagh for joining me, it's been great to have company!

>18 DeltaQueen50: - YAY! Always great to see another reader joining in!

>19 PawsforThought: - Oooohhh... Smiley's People. Love the movie, never read the book, or any Le Carre books for that matter.

As you said above, pop in when you can. I have been non-reading all day and just now getting ready to settle in to try to finish The Lantern so I can claim 3 books read this weekend.
