My Arthur Rackham's GRIMM'S FAIRY TALES just came and it's like Easton Press did not make this book. This DLE even more gorgeous than The three musketeers DLE I have. The leather and paper in this edition are really gorgeous. The paper is really thick and has some texture to it. I tell you the truth, I did not expect that from EP. This book is large and it has a large and clear font. Now, why EP can't do something like that for every DLE title?

1: Well they could, but it wouldn't sell. Not every book needs a $400-500 treatment. That said, enjoy this beautiful book, and I believe and hope that Reynard the Foxe will be similarly impressive. Also, feel free to post pics :)

Here are some pics I took of mine a while back....the Rackham Alice in Wonderland is nice too..even more luxurious paper with illustrations mounted on darker card stock.

Yes thank you for sharing this beauty. Personally, I never dreamt there was a market for expensive luxurious children's books.

Is it really a children's book or just a classic piece of history?

>7 cu29640: I am methodically reading my close to 800 leather books. As I read the "children's books" I sell them or gift them to my young nephews ....they do not have the appeal they might have had for me as a child. Kind of glad I did not pick up those EP Tom Swift reprints.

wow... so very beautiful. I've been holding off on the Grimms / Alice / Aesop set but my resolve isn't as strong as it was! Thanks for sharing :)

9: A lot of people hold off on a DLE only to regret it later.

Goes to sit in a corner to ponder his place in this world and opens Tom Swift And His Motor Cycle🤔🤔🤔

>10 astropi: This statement could not be more true... Luckily I am 27 years old and learned this lesson last year.

>11 GOBOGIE: that is funny. I am re-reading some of the books that thrilled me in my 20's and find that my tastes have changed dramatically. By the way I found (within last couple of months) that Robinson Crusoe is as good if not better than when I was young; I might regret not getting that DLE.

I re-read Crusoe last winter. The long winters where I live can be gloomy at times, so I try to read something fun and adventurous to help brighten my spirits and Crusoe did the trick. That was one of the reasons I decided on the DLE at the last moment.

I made the mistake one time of reading "Into Thin Air" by John Krakauer one winter. Boy was that a miscalculation of entertainment!

I hate to say this, but when people say Robinson Crusoe I start singing the Gilligan's Island theme! Hey, it was based off Robinson Crusoe :P

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale
a tale of a fateful trip,
that started from this tropic port,
aboard this tiny ship.
...
...
No phone, no lights, no motor car
not a single luxury
like Robinson Crusoe,
it's primitive as can be.
