Book: Titus Groan by Mervyn Peake

English artist, poet playwright and novelist is one of many great illustrators who have produced art work for an edition of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland'.

The earliest surviving manuscript contains Carroll's own illustrations.

Titus Groan is the first of four books in the Gormenghadt series. A complex gothic satire; an other world story, peopled by eccentric characters. There is an excellent tv series starring Ian Richardson, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Warren Mitchell - who recently died.
