SkyOne have created a production website for the upcoming adaptation of The Colour of Magic. The site currently includes news, background information, pictures and a blog from Vadim Jean the production's director.

I dunno what's up with it carrying on with the links. If you copy and paste them into your address bar, they should work fine (fingers crossed).

Yes, the copy and paste worked. I'm still bummed though. When will I ever be able to see this or Hogfather? I wonder if they will get it sold in America? It seems to me to be some cruel revenge to make us wait this long.

What I'm really narked about is that they seem to be combining elements of The Colour of Magic with The Light Fantastic. Surely there's enough material in each of the Discworld books to warrant doing each of them separately? Neither of the first two books in the series are anywhere near being my favourites (in fact, the only one I disliked more was Eric!), but I would still like to see these done properly with an age-appropriate cast to boot - David Jason, although being an excellent actor, is WAY too old to be playing Rincewind for a start! And Sean Astin isn't even REMOTELY Oriental... *grumblemumble*

#5 - I did shrug at the Rincewind actor, I had always 'seen' him as younger. Sean Astin doesn't bother me as much because I never had a clear picture in my head of Twoflower .

IMPORTANT UPDATE: We now know that The Colour of Magic will get a
UK DVD release in October 2008 via 20th Century Fox.
There are no details yet about what extras it will contain but I
would speculate that it might have the Making Of and hopefully the
Tourist Guides to Ankh-Morpork that appeared on the website.
Please note that there has been no announcement of when The Colour
of Magic will be released in other countries.
