Remember John Skipp? Of Skipp & Spector? You know, "godfathers of splatterpunk" and all that? THE LIGHT AT THE END, THE SCREAM, and all those other dark, scary, hip novels back in the 80's? I just wanted to alert everyone to the fact that his new short novel THE LONG LAST CALL is just out in paperback from Leisure books. It starts out blazing and doesn't let up. I was just grinning from ear to ear as I read it, realizing that Skipp's back, full force and open throttle. As a bonus, the novelette CONSCIENCE is included. The guy's still got it.

I read on the Sci Fi Channel site just this week that he's already got plans to direct the movie soon.

Got mine the other day, looks like a fun read! There's an intro by Brian Keene, one of favorite new horror authors.

I saw the paperback for sale at a Walgreen's yesterday evening. Hmmm...is this a good sign?

I actually bought mine in a grocery store, even before it was available at the local Borders. Now if only it would be featured at the counter in convenience stores - the world would be a better place!
