I just got the book Persepolis 2 by Marjane Satrapi and on it there was saying that it would soon be a major motion picture.

Hollywood has truley lost all orininality.

My brother's fiancee got me the Complete Persepolis for xmas, and it had the same blurb on it. I'm beginning to think that the American film industry has just stopped doing anything other than bad action flicks and variable quality book adaptations.

If a book has even a slight success anymore, it gets made into a move.

Hollywood lost all originality years ago. *sigh*

Actually, guys, Marjane Satrapi made her own movie adaptation. She co-directed with a fellow artist/cartoonist from Europe. And by all accounts, it's a brilliant success. I haven't seen it yet, but I very much intend to, and the clips I've seen look perfect. It's definitely not Hollywood, that's for sure...

Saw it this past weekend, it was pretty good. Really beautiful.

It was the best book --> movie I have ever seen. I think the important thing is that she co-directed it. It is just like the book, only in a different medium.

I would completely recommend it.

It's a lovely movie adaptation, really nice 2D animation that feels very alive, and has plenty of originality. Don't think it has much to do with the American film industry though since it's in French.
