Jacob Riis' HOW THE OTHER HALF LIVES Limited Edition

A member here asked me for pictures of this particular book so here it is. Notice it is marketed as a Limited Edition and NOT a Deluxe Limited Edition. This particular book is bound in EP's standard leather but is numbered and slipcased. Which begs the question what exactly constitute a DLE label. Yes some are grand in size while others uses cowhide leather and marbled papers. But we see new series of books that are now clothbound and marketed as a DLE. It's just as confusing as Folio's "Fine Edition" and even they admit that they don't have a concrete criteria in labelling their books.
Another book that also falls in this category is MY BONDAGE AND MY FREEDOM with the limitation matching the year it was published. I can only assume TWELVE YEARS A SLAVE is similar but my luck it sold out on the day I ordered it. If someone can verify that would be great and also if they know any other book it is marketed as a Limited Edition please let us know.

The book is 5 1/4" x 8". I bought mine second hand but received a refund since the seller did not disclose that there was a bookplate attached and was not properly applied at that, and also there's a gash on the spine from what looks like it was cut by an x-acto knife from opening the shrinkwrap maybe. Aside from that, I hope the pics enables you to make an informed decision on whether this book is what you were looking for.

Thanks for posting the pictures Jules. I see what you were referring to. I'll see if I can pick this up second hand as you did as it doesn't seem to be worth the price of what EP is asking for a new one.
