lesbian history

i'm looking for a good book to suggest for a lesbian book group for pride month. i am wanting something that's a history of lesbians or lesbians throughout history or something like that, but i'm really only finding lillian faderman books. those might be alright, but they're a bit expensive and maybe a little problematic (in her overstating who might have been a lesbian and in validating trans people). i've seen a few others that aren't easily available but am wondering if anyone has read any good books like this?
