Anybody got some books they're willing to say goodbye to?
How about tagging books you're willing to swap with fellow PinoyThing members? What tag can we use?
sellswap? disposable?
I'll wait for someone to start.

Any book or just books by/for/about Filipinos? I have a few duplicate copies, but they're not Philippines-related.

Any book.

Thanks. I have some books I'm willing to part with. Here are a few:
The Philosophy of Humanism by Corliss Lamont (paperback)
Some Mistakes of Moses by Robert Ingersoll (paperback)
Arguing for Atheism by Robin le Poidevin (paperback)
Encyclopedia of Biblical Errancy by Dennis McKinsey (hardcover)
These are all duplicate copies and are in pristine, unread condition. If I have the time, I can scour my shelf for other books I can trade with.
What I'm looking for are the early books by Stephen Jay Gould, specifically:
Ontogeny and Phylogeny
Ever Since Darwin
The Panda's Thumb
Hen's Teeth and Horse's Toes
The Flamingo's Smile
Time's Arrow, Time's Cycle
An Urchin in the Storm
Bully for Brontosaurus
and his recent Magnum Opus:
The Structure of Evolutionary Theory
The books don't have to be in mint condition, as long as it is not too damaged or have pages falling off. If you are interested in trading but don't have the books I'm looking for, I am open to other trade suggestions (check out my LT profile and catalogue list for my reading habits).
Also, If you have the books I'm looking for but don't like the books I'm willing to trade with, you can check my catalogue and suggest other books you'd like instead.

That's a good idea! how about using !sell, !swap... and :exchange ?
I'm not entirely sure but from what I understood, swap is like barter, like for keeps... I was thinking maybe we could exchange also. Exchanging would be more like letting the other person borrow a book you recommend and for yourself, borrowing a book the other person recommends as well.
What do you think? ;

Thinking about the issue further I'd like a tag that's flexible enough to stand for both barters and outright cash purchases. I mean, you might have something I'm interested in, but I don't have any books on hand that you might like, so what about paying in cash?
So here's the tag I used for my "disposable" books: best offer.
If you want to get any of these books, make me an offer. Got a book you're willing to trade? (I am well-disposed towards popular science works, British contemporary fiction, books on humanist philosophy, and stuff by Neil Gaiman.) Tell me what you're willing to swap for it. Or tell me what you're willing to pay (cash) for the book.
I know, a cash transaction sounds like it detracts from the unhselfish book-love we're trying to achieve on PinoyThing. But picky booklovers gotta have a choice! :)

I'd love to dispose some of my academic books for some contemporary novels on my wish list.
I don't know if anyone will be interested to get their hands on these but it's pretty handy for college students:
Financial and Managerial accounting, 12th ed, Mcgraw Hill;Managerial accounting and Basic Business Statistics Books; Intro to Economics, Mankiw.
Others include my Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich.

got a message from a friend: writer edgar samar is selling secondhand books (mostly literary). 100+ titles are listed in his site: http://datingkundiman.blogspot.com/

Thanks for the heads up! I've already emailed him to reserve a few books. Some of the selections are quite good. :)
