What do you make of the young man who arrived at Connie's house? What could he mean when he said 'not exactly' to the question of whether he was a relative? Is he suspicious?

Not suspicious of him yet. He could be connected or related to Elisa but don't know what that would have to do with Veronica. He said he was looking for Veronica Eliot. I believe I'm going to get the boat ready now.

I thought he was potentially the killer even though I didn't know how he connected. Picking up some snacks to take to the boat. Does anyone want chocolate cake or key lime pie?

I was thinking that he may be a long lost son of Veronica. I don't suspect him though.

>3 Olivermagnus: >5 Carol420: I agree with Carol - both and can we take some cream to go with the pie!

>2 Carol420: Carol, this is Ann Cleeves - we should always have the boat on emergency standby for one of her books!

Strange how the man disappeared, and how can you 'not exactly' be family! He is definitely up there on my suspicion list! Very, very strange. Watch this space we definitely haven't heard the last of him!

>3 Olivermagnus: Never tasted key-lime pie, OM, but it sounds delicious. Definitely put some in the boat, : D

As for the stranger: haven't a clue... He seemed to disappear very sharpish after accepting a cup of tea - now that is suspicious; he could simply have declined the cuppa!

>8 Sergeirocks: Key limes are a particular type of lime that grow in the Florida Keys area. It also happens to be one of my husband's favorite desserts.

As for the young man, I found his behavior odd.

>9 Lynsey2: Thanks for the info, Lynsey - I wondered why it was called 'key'-lime pie...

>8 Sergeirocks: A Key lime is also a different fruit than a regular lime. It's a citrus hybrid that is yellow when ripe.

I found 2 pieces of key lime pie in the freezer at the store boxed up by a company named Edwards from Minnesota. My husband and I ate them for dessert last night. They were soooo good.

>12 EadieB: I have never heard of this company. I will have to do some research. :)

>12 EadieB: Ahhhhh! Owned by Schwan's. A big company out of Southwestern MN. They actually have delivery trucks that will bring all your frozen food needs right to your door.

That sounds like an advert Lynsey.

Is that the same as Schwan's Ice Cream trucks that I see sometimes with a black swan on the truck.

They have great ice cream but they only deliver to restaurants in my area.

>19 EadieB: I used their delivery service for awhile when I was working out of home with 3 small children. It was very convenient. Then I had my fourth child, quit my job and started cooking myself, minimizing the need for quick, processed foods. Their ice cream and their desserts were their best products. But the convenience sure was hard to beat.

Sounds like a great company and great idea for busy people.

>20 Lynsey2: Four children, I can see why you may struggle to find enough reading time especially during holiday periods.

>22 Andrew-theQM: All but one are in their 20's, employed and living independently but the youngest seems to keep me as busy as when I had all 4 of them home. And both my husband and I have large extended families that live in the area so holidays are always a big deal. But really, the summers here are too short and I feel I need to be outside as much as possible. I am very social in the summer and I hibernate with my books in the winter.
