Do you have any early thoughts or theories about the murder, the back stories or suspects?
2Carol420
I think Veronica killed her because of the upcoming marriage that she doesn't approve of. It's also possible that Simon killed her but it doesn't seem that he would have had a reason.
3Olivermagnus
I thought the cleaning lad, Danny, might have been hired to kill her but I don't know why. I think it's somehow related to Connie. Since Connie was a social worker and so was Jenny, I wonder if someone could be trying to pay them back for the (probable) death of a little boy under their care.
4eadieburke
I'm suspecting Danny's mom. I think Danny is possibly the thief and Danny's mom is covering for him.
5Andrew-theQM
For me Karen is more suspicious than Danny, who was Karen phoning after she spoke to Joe if it wasn't her son? I also think it relates back to Connie and Jenny's profession. It could relate back to Veronica bit at this stage I think Veronica is just a nasty piece of work whose bark is worse than her bite, but at this early stage who knows!
6Andrew-theQM
Also we have the young man who arrived at Connie's, what is he up to?
7Sergeirocks
Far, far, FAR, too early for me yet. But I like Lynda's theory re Elias being a child under Connie's former supervision.
8EadieB
What about the Duty Manager, Ryan Taylor, he was acting suspicious to me. Constantly hanging around and watching what was going on.
9Sergeirocks
>8 EadieB: Definitely wouldn't rule him out either.

>8 EadieB: >9 Sergeirocks: >10 Andrew-theQM: I thought that Ryan was just curious and wanted to watch the investigation and maybe get his 15 minutes if fame if it came t that. I'll just crawl back in the boat now. Please pass the key lime pie.

>11 Carol420: Sorry I've eaten it all, had to while I waited for company. The next person needs to bring more!
I also thought he was just curious Carol, but not the first time I would be known to be wrong with an Ann Cleeves book.

I can bring some New York style cherry cheesecake. I actually made one last week at the beach house but it was gone the next day. It won't take long to make another one. Have to go to the store as it takes 40 ozs. of cream cheese, 7 eggs, heavy cream, sour cream and cherry pie filling.

>13 EadieB: Sounds good to me! :)

>12 Andrew-theQM: We are probably all way off in our assumptions. Maybe Jenny just roasted like a chicken on a spite in the steam room:)
>13 EadieB: Well what are you waiting for? Get that cheese cake going! Nice that it doesn't have any calories:)

The cheesecake is done and I also got fixings for banana pudding (vanilla wafers, bananas, milk, cool whip and pudding). All no calories!

Given the eating we'll have to do this Group Read might take more than 5 days!

Hold the book in one hand and the food in the other. You're on holiday - enjoy it!

>17 Andrew-theQM: >18 eadieburke: I believe we might also need to start worrying about just how much weight this boat can hold. Andrew will tell us how many "stones" it can hold and that sounds so much more ominous than pounds:) Please pass the cheesecake.
21EadieB
>20 Carol420:
I think he'll need to calculate our weight in 'rocks' instead of 'stones' or even 'boulders'!

>21 EadieB: LOL! Pass the cheesecake please. One more boulder won't hurt:)
23Olivermagnus
I want in on that cheesecake! If it's gone I have a nice recipe for Trifle. It has fruit so it must be healthy.
24Carol420
>23 Olivermagnus: You have to be quick to beat Andrew to it:) We do have banana pudding on the horizon and you are more than welcome to bring along your Trifle. I don't think at this point 'healthy" is going to matter much.
25Andrew-theQM
>23 Olivermagnus: >24 Carol420: I resemble that remark! :)
