Connie thought the stranger was working, it wasn't a social call. Any thoughts?

I think the stranger may be the murderer and was caught dumping the bag in the weeds trying to set up Connie.

I'm not sure what the strangers agenda was. If he's the murder we sure haven't been told much about him except for that first encounter at Connie's.

I didn't get the feeling the stranger was working - carrying a rucksack? Maybe if he was selling door-to-door. In which case why not try to sell to Connie, and why ask for the Eliots in particular?
And if he was working - where was his car?

I'm not sure he was working but he was up to something which I will declare in a later question.

I don't think he was working. I don't think it was a social call either. I'm completely clueless.

I think the stranger is a part of the whole scene too. Possibly hired to kill Jenny by Veronica and then dumped her bag in an effort to make Connie a suspect.
