Given Veronica's reaction to losing Patrick, did you think she had previously lost another child? Were you right?

I wasn't right about Patrick...until it was brought out in the story line I didn't know that she had another child other than Simon.

No I thought her reaction was in regards to the bag and not the fact that one of her children died by drowning.

It never occurred to me that Mattie was her daughter. Then I kicked myself because it seemed like such an obvious idea.

At the start of this section I did think Veronica had another child when she was young and that it had been taken off her so with losing Patrick there was further loss. Also figured it had to be Mattie - one thing I did get right in the book. This became evident to me when Veronica was away from the village for a period of time, felt like they were hiding her and the only reason for this was pregnancy.

No. None of this occurred to me.
