Not so much on the book by itself but I hope that with this new direction that Ann continues to grow and improve Vera as a leader and let her team develop into a comfortable working relationship. She can't change Vera a great deal because what she is and how she is is what makes these books so good and keeps me returning again and again.

I would like to see Vera lose some weight and have a love interest which would probably make her a happier person where she would then possibly treat Joe better.

I can't think of anything right now. I'm afraid any changes to Vera might ruin the character so Ann would have to do it very carefully.

Like Eadie, I'd like to see Vera with an admirer; but the only thing I can think of that would improve this particular book would have been a few more hints at Simon's background - then the idea of his having an affair with Jenny might not have come so much out of the blue.

It was Jenny that seduced him. I want more on her background in order to try to figure out why she would do such a stupid thing.

>6 EadieB: I agree, Eadie, I think the only background we got for Jenny was to do with her profession, we got very little insight to her personal life.

>6 EadieB: >7 Sergeirocks: She was in LOVE dahlin...in love. That explains it all. BLAH!

I would have liked a better ending, I just felt it let down the book. I also agree we needed to be drip fed a little more information sooner.

That's the problem with all her books. We never have a chance but I still consider them excellent reads.

I agree, I ALWAYS look forward to reading them.

I thought there was something missing in her prose with this book. It seemed less descriptive to me.

>12 Lynsey2: I would agree there and possibly was linked to it now being a tv series.
