What is the final rating for this book? Why?

I stuck with the 4.5. I really liked the story and you know I love the characters but even though I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone and everyone I just didn't feel the excitement that would have pushed it to 5.

My final rating is a 5 as I have already stated that this is my favorite Vera book so far. I liked the character development and the type of plot that is better suited for TV and not so complicated.

I'm moving to a 5. I had no idea what was going on most of the time but the conclusion was very plausible.

Sticking with the 4. While I liked the story, I thought the changes to the style made it read more like a TV episode, which I suppose is exactly what it is... !

(I will never see myself giving a Vera book 5 stars as the series cannot come close to the Shetland series, which is by far my favourite of the two.)

I am sticking with my 4.5, it was most definitely heading for a 5 but the ending took half a star off.

Can't beat Jimmy Perez as a character. I agree Shetland series is better.

Well maybe Vera series could be #11.

It would be high, but just not quite make the 10.

I'm sticking with a 4. I struggled with this one which is definitely not the book's fault but on the other hand it didn't snap me out of my reading slump either.

Unfortunately, I don't see that happening anytime soon. :( Not that i'm wishing for Winter though!
