Was it a wise idea for Nelson to go to Ruth's house late at night to question her given everything that has happened?

Not wise, but rather predictable. It seems that he too is of two minds about a relationship with Ruth.

No but Nelson was beside himself and wanted some comfort from Ruth. Not wise but predictable, I agree.

This was plain stupid! If it wasn't for Ruth they would have ended up in bed together.
