Not really because Hilary did exactly say which building she was meeting the letter writer in.

No, I don't think it's quite fair to blame them - Hillary had dissembled about the meeting place, and there were lots and lots of people milling about: easy for her to disappear.

Too big a place and too many people all dressed alike and they really didn't know which Holy House she was meeting the writer at.

I think Hilary played them. She told the truth but in a very loose way.

These are cops, not superheroes with precognition. In this crowd it would be very easy to lose somebody.

>6 sushicat: You are right about the crowd but from all of their reactions it seemed the crowd was much bigger than they anticipated and they hadn't expected everyone to be in costume. Harry should have stationed his officers at the most likely places not had them trying to follow one woman in a crowd of people. He should have been the one watching and following Hillary not his officers.

You are all more forgiving than I am, they were incompetent in my eyes and should have found a way to keep her in sight at all times.
