I loved the ending of the book. Everything was tied up nicely. Some surprises for the next installment. Michelle and Tim's relationship. Nelson and Ruth's relationship. Clough's baby and marriage.

A good ending, all still to play for... That door is still open for Ruth to get her man, which has been one of the mainstays of the series.
I think getting a puppy is the Nelson equivalent of having a baby to strengthen their weakening marriage. And I don't know about calling it Rocky, or Max, or Bruno, for all the good it'll do they may as well call it 'Elastoplast' - because all they're doing is sticking a plaster over the cracks.

It was a good ending. Everything came together and the characters are all still in the running. It opened some new avenues for Ruth, Clough...even Cathbad. I bet he's going to be awhile thinking about his having told Justin about Ruth and Nelson. Loved Sergei's name for the puppy.

I liked the ending. It leaves a ton of potential story twists in the future, including Tanya and her girlfriend. I can see Harry having some trouble with that, while trying to do the right thing.

I liked the pace the story took during the passion play and the developments between the central cast of characters - love the addition of Bruno, but fully agree that this will not save that relationship.
But as to the plot? That a dinner lady, who was shortly present at a boarding school would make such an impression on boy that he would suddenly, years later, without any apparent trigger, go on a murder spree that was partly opportunistic and partly premeditated and then change victim type by going after Larry's wife - nope, doesn't work for me.

Must remember we are not dealing with someone who is playing with a full deck. When Robin went to dinner at Daisy's house with the women priests, Daisy had Doreen's picture displayed on her picture board and that seemed to make Robin angry too. If Daisy resembles Doreen in any way (mannerisms or looks), I can see how that would set off a mentally unstable murderer.

>3 Sergeirocks: My thoughts exactly re the dog.
I did enjoy the ending and found it all very believable.
