Wondering if anyone is interested in reviving this group. I've been playing table top games with my family and friends for the past year or so and been an avid reader for many years. I'd love to talk about both of these things with others.

Tabletop games are great. :) My problem is that many are made only for groups (even the ones that you can play with just two are often pretty dull that way), so if you have just two people the options are super limited. :/

Well not that super-limited - a number of multi-player games do play well for 2 as well. However they may not be the genre of games that you prefer.

>2 .Monkey.: I play almost exclusively with two, and there's no shortage of great games. What kind of games do you like?

Various sorts, the two we have that we enjoy most with just 2 are Carcassonne and Ticket to Ride (Europe). We have various others that are 2+ but mostly they just don't play well with only 2, at least in our opinions.

I had the opportunity of trying Splendor for the first time on Sunday, and that was great fun on two players. Other favourites on two are Dominion, Mansions of Madness Second Edition, Tales of the Arabian Nights, Lewis & Clark, Twilight Struggle, 1960: The Making of the President and 7 Wonders: Duel.

OK so if you are looking for low to medium complexity games that do not last for hours (and are not LCGs/abstracts) then these immediately spring to mind.
Trambahn is a good 2 player only game, as is Targi.
Castles of Mad King Ludwig is fairly good with 2 players (and can play with up to 4)
Glass Road plays well with 2 (and can play with up to 4). Maybe a little more complex than the others, but still not complicated.
7 Wonders: Duel is a 2 player only version of 7 Wonders.
Paperback is pretty good for 2 as well (although fairly hard to find).
I am sure others will also have suggestions but there are videos on all these games so you can see how they play.

I've never tried Castles of Mad King Ludwig on two people; I wouldn't have thought it works well. Now I must try!

It plays differently - the price-setting isn't as tense. I think it is better as a 4 player game, but there are those who do play it 2 player and enjoy it.

We have the app for my Ipad which adds AI players. The screen is really too small, but otherwise I think it's probably a better option.

I mostly play two-players so I'm always on the look-out for games to try. Some of my favorites (some are only for two but some aren't) are:
-Age of War
-Love Letter
-Splendor
-Tsuro
-X-Wing (just getting started in this game but after three games, feeling more comfortable)
-Patchwork (wasn't sure how I'd enjoy it but it was a good time)
-Castle Panic
-Legendary
There may be some others but those are the ones I remember playing recently.
I'm a big fan of fun little games that can be tucked away in a pocket or bag and taken along.
