My Movie catalogue site similar to LT is closing. I have looked at how movies are catalogued here but its just not suitable. You have to go the the author section and fiddle with the author types for each and every person involved with the TV series or movie. So does anyone know a better site? The closing site is www.take11.com

What do you know about them closing?
Ah, this is the one you made. I'm sorry to hear it.

Ah. I don't get your point about authors, though. Libraries have crap movie data, but if you catalog from Amazon, it tends to get the actors and so forth right. Did Take11 have better data than Amazon?

In some ways yes... I would add the movie , usually from Amazon data base. Where there were omissions i would add them. Eg Amazon may only have 3 or 4 actors. I would then go to IMDB and add as many actors as I possibly could (they allowed 373 characters). I would also add the date of release or the script writer and music composer (if it was not present). I was not really interested in the EAN no or some of the other data. Not sure if you can see my profile there but its bergs47 also.
Basically I was more interested in cross examining the Writer, Actor and director stats.
I dont own any DVD's or Movies at all I have catalogued (where possible) everything I have ever seen, be it a movie or a TV series. On the other site I can then see which actors I have seen eg
Michael Caine(36) Gene Hackman(30) Robert De Niro(30)
Directors I get the following: Woody Allen(30) Robert Altman(18) Steven Spielberg(16). Obviously you can click through and see which they are. Also like LT you can see which other users have the Movie or series in their collection.
