I've never been and won't be able to remedy that this year, but read of this Sunday's opening of the 5th Annual Chicago Book Expo.

Anyone been in past years and/or planning to attend this year? I'm curious if LTers find it worthwhile, and how it differs from the annual Printers Row affair.

It's more Chicago-oriented, more local authors, rather than the big national names that Printers Row brings in. PR has a lot of used book dealers, while CBE has more small presses and literary organizations (all local, too). And CBE doesn't have anyone selling cars.

I couldn't go this year due to a scheduling conflict, but have in the past, and it's definitely worth attending.

Ah! I see it was last Sunday, I read too quickly and thought it was coming up (11/20).

The organisers also coordinate the Evanston festival in the Spring, hopefully I see that in time to attend that one.
