Hi everyone!

during the years I have enjoyed writing some sonnets, in Italian (my mother language). I have recently decided to try and translate them. If you are interested you can get the digital version for free (smashwords https://goo.gl/PvwX40 or directly from the book section of my blog http://coolwritingnotes.blogspot.it/p/books-libri.html).

But most importantly, here is one sample. Please let me know openly what you think of it (them).

Cheers

Luca

Original version

Title: La follia

Perso nell'oscurità della notte,
difensore ultimo della tua
scintilla, che serbo viva a prua
mentre navigo per ignote rotte.

Echeggia la loro gioia ingenua,
sacerdoti d'aspre acque corrotte
ch'ormai paghe di burrascose lotte
dan loro tregua e pace superflua.

Ma scoverò di nuovo la tempesta,
ed in balia di onde sprezzanti
affronteremo la vita con gesta

eroiche. E saremo amanti
sferzati dalla follia funesta,
onesta luce di occhi sognanti.

English translation

Title: Madness

Lost in the darkness of the night,
last defender of your
spark, which I keep alive in the bow
as I sail for unknown routes.

Resounds their naive joy,
priests of bitter and corrupted waters
that now satisfied with stormy struggles
give them truce and superfluous peace.

But I shall once more find the storm,
and at the mercy of contemptuous waves
we will face life with heroic

deeds. And we shall be lovers
lashed by the deadly madness,
honest light of dreamy eyes.
